Hey y’all! It’s almost the 4th of July. Everyone’s going to be with family and friends having a ball with their cookouts, red white and blue attire, fireworks, glow sticks, sparklers, fun drinks, and yummy summer treats. I made a fun treat for a cookout for the Fourth. I call it Sand Bucket Cake. It’s a spin on the original Dirt Cake, and it’s just as delicious and fun!!
To make this fun treat, you’ll need:
- 1 8oz pack of cream cheese
- 1 stuck of unsalted butter
- 2 packages of instant vanilla pudding
- 1 container of Cool Whip
- 3 1/2 cups of milk
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 2 boxes of Nilla wafers
- 4-5 Oreos
Fun fact: I just got a new camera so I actually took pictures of the steps as best as I could remember (I made this kind of quick so I missed a couple pictures).
Here’s what you need to do:
- Cube your stick of butter and place a few cubes in your bowl. I always use the Kitchen Aide when I make this dessert. I find the paddle attachment to be best for this!
- Once the butter is somewhat softened and mixed, throw in your pack of cream cheese and mix.
- Pour 1 cup of milk into the butter/cream cheese mixture.
- Open one package of the instant vanilla putting and put into the mixture
- Pour another cup of milk into the mixture.
- Open your 2nd pack of vanilla pudding put into the mixture. Then mix in the rest of the 1 1/2 cups of milk. Mix until smooth.
- Next, pour 1 cup of powdered sugar into the mixture and mix until smooth
- Finally, mix in the container of Cool Whip until smooth!
- While that’s mixing, you can start to make your “sand”. In a food processor, fill with Nilla wafers and 1 Oreo. Blend until crushed and looks like “sand”
- Make as much as you need to fill your bucket and place in a separate bowl.
- Now start to layer your sand and filling. Start with a layer of sand at the bottom of the bucket, then layer the filling. Continue to alternate until your bucket is full!
Here is the finished product!
Hope this was simple enough! It is delicious and fun to serve with the shovel!!
Have a great 4th of July everyone! β€οΈπππΊπΈ
